Loving the Water

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!! Since it's also our #SwimTipTuesday I want to talk about LOVE! Something I hear from clients at the beginning of their swim lesson journey is, "My child just doesn't really love the water." There can be so many factors that come into play as to why a child expresses fear, hesitation or even a dislike for the water. Over the years of teaching the solution to this problem is simple, Practice Practice Practice! The more your child is in the water with you or their teacher the more they will begin to build a confidence in the water, as that develops, we as teachers present them with small challenges that they can accomplish. Not only does that continue to build the confidence but it turns into a game for your kiddos and something they look forward to. It's such a rewarding thing to watch as an instructor. So the more they practice and experiance these small victories the more they will learn to Love being in the water! Want to practice this on your own? Get some diving rings, they even have Princess & Super hero ones these days! Use them during bath time then bring them with you too the pool. Have your kids practice putting their face in as they grab them! Any parents have kids that don't Love the water want to share their story with us, I'd love to hear from you!

Happy VDay

xoxo
